Your website is usually the first thing a Moses Lake customer sees — before they ever walk into your shop, call your office, or pull up to your job site. If it is slow on a phone, looks dated next to your competitors, or does not show up in Google, a redesign pays for itself faster than almost any other investment a local business can make. Gorden Web Design has been redesigning small business websites across Central Washington since 2018. We rebuild sites around how your customers actually search, click, and buy — not around what looked good in 2017.

Most of our redesign clients come to us after the same three signals — a site that looks like it was built when they first opened, a mobile experience that does not work, or a Google Business Profile that outranks the site itself because the site has not been touched in years. We handle the full project: audit, strategy, design, build, content migration, and the launch — fixed-price from $1,800 to $9,500 and finished in 4 to 8 weeks.

Is it time for a redesign?

Most small business sites hit a wall somewhere between year three and year five. Here are the warning signs that your Moses Lake business is ready.

  1. Your site takes longer than 4 seconds to load on a phone. Google tracks over half of all visits on mobile. If visitors leave before the page paints, you lose the lead before they ever see your work.
  2. The design still uses stock photos and a template from your original build. A site that looked modern in 2019 reads as dated in 2026 — and customers notice, even when they cannot articulate why.
  3. Your Google Business Profile outranks your own website. That means Google is sending the click to your map listing, not your homepage, because your homepage is not telling Google what you do or where you do it.
  4. You cannot update the site yourself without calling someone. If every text change, photo swap, or new service page requires a developer ticket, the site is costing you time and money every month.
  5. You have no idea whether the site is bringing in leads. If there is no form tracking, no call tracking, and no Google Search Console hooked up, you are flying blind. A redesign is the right time to fix that.
  6. The site does not work for AI search yet. ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google’s AI Overviews pull structured answers from sites they can crawl. If your site has no schema, no FAQ markup, and no clear content structure, you are invisible to that traffic.
  7. Your competitors in Moses Lake, Quincy, or Ephrata have rebuilt in the last 18 months. A new site from a competitor does not have to beat you on service — it just has to look more current. Once that happens, you start losing calls.

If three or more of those apply, a redesign is overdue. The next step is what we change — and what we deliberately do not.

What we change in a redesign

A redesign at Gorden Web Design is not a paint job. We treat it as a chance to fix the underlying problems — speed, mobile layout, search visibility, and the structural data that AI tools need to read your site.

Design

We rebuild the visual system around your real content — not around a stock template. Typography, color, spacing, and photography all get reset so the site reads as yours, not as a theme demo. We design once at desktop width and then test it at phone, fold-by-fold, to make sure every section still works on a 360-pixel screen.

Mobile

Every redesign is built mobile-first. We size tap targets for thumbs, collapse multi-column layouts into single-column stacks, and move phone numbers and CTAs into the always-visible top of the page. The mobile build is not a “we’ll fix it later” step — it is the design.

Speed

We hit a 90+ PageSpeed score on mobile and keep Largest Contentful Paint under 2.5 seconds. That means trimmed page weight, deferred non-critical scripts, properly sized images in next-gen formats, and a hosting environment that can serve the result. If the redesign does not pass our speed gate, we rework the build before launch.

SEO

Redesigns quietly destroy rankings when they are not planned right. We map every existing URL to a new one, preserve title tags and meta descriptions, carry over inbound links with 301 redirects, and run the new site on a staging domain first so we can verify Google sees the same content in the same place. Most clients keep or improve their rankings within 60 days of launch.

Schema and structured data

We add the schema markup that Google and AI search tools actually use — LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage, BreadcrumbList, and Review where it applies. This is the part of the build that lets your site appear in rich results and feed the AI summaries that are now driving 15-20% of commercial search traffic.

AI-bot access

We publish a sensible robots policy, an llms.txt file for AI crawlers, and a clean sitemap, then verify that GPTBot, PerplexityBot, and Google-Extended can actually read the content. If your redesign is invisible to AI search, you are giving away that channel to whoever optimized first.

Our redesign process

Every redesign runs through the same six phases. The timeline shifts with scope; the steps do not.

1. Audit (week 1)

We pull analytics, search console data, current rankings, page speed, schema coverage, and a content inventory. The audit tells us what to keep, what to cut, and where the wins are. You get a written report before we move on.

2. Strategy (week 1-2)

We define the new site map, the page hierarchy, the keyword targets for each page, and the conversion paths. The strategy doc is the single source of truth for the rest of the project — if something is not in the doc, it does not ship.

3. Design (week 2-3)

We build the new design in Figma — homepage, a service page, a contact page, and a blog post. You see real layouts with your real content, not a mood board with placeholder text. Two rounds of revisions are included.

4. Build (week 3-6)

We build the new site on a staging domain. You get a private URL to review every page as it goes live on staging. Content is migrated, schema is wired up, forms are tested, and tracking is installed.

5. Launch (week 6-7)

We cut the DNS, run the 301 redirects, submit the new sitemap, and verify everything in Search Console. The site is monitored hourly for the first week — uptime, errors, and rankings.

6. Measure (week 7-8)

30 days after launch we deliver a written report: traffic, rankings, leads, and any issues we caught. If anything regressed, we fix it under the original scope.

Local proof — redesign work in Moses Lake and Central WA

The best indicator of what a redesign will do for your business is what one did for a business like yours.

Moses Lake auto repair shop — before/after

The original site was a 2018 Wix build with five pages and a contact form that emailed a personal Gmail. After the redesign: WordPress + LiteSpeed hosting, twelve pages covering every service and brand the shop works on, a quote form that lands in the shop’s CRM, and schema markup for AutoRepair. PageSpeed went from 38 to 94 on mobile. The shop owner reported 3x more quote requests in the first 90 days.

Quincy agricultural services company — before/after

Previous site was a single scrolling page with a stock-photo header and no clear service list. We rebuilt around their three service lines (irrigation consulting, pump service, soil sampling), added location pages for each town they serve in Grant and Adams counties, and rebuilt their Google Business Profile to match. Organic traffic from Moses Lake, Quincy, and Othello tripled in the four months after launch.

Pricing

Redesign projects run $1,800 to $9,500, delivered in 4 to 8 weeks. Most small business redesigns land in the $3,200 to $6,500 range. The lower end covers a 10-page brochure site we can rebuild on a clean template; the upper end covers 30+ pages, custom templates, ecommerce, and complex migrations from Wix, Squarespace, or a custom CMS.

Every project is fixed-price. The number we quote is the number you pay. Hosting, SSL, and the first 30 days of post-launch monitoring are included; ongoing maintenance is a separate plan if you want us to keep handling it after launch.
